A Black groundskeeper who won a massive civil suit against Bayer’s Monsanto in August has agreed to accept $78 million. A San Francisco Superior Court judge substantially reduced the jury’s original $289 million award.

Dewayne “Lee” Johnson proved in court last month that he contracted cancer from using the weed killer Roundup, a product of Bayer’s Monsanto.

The Northern Californian groundskeeper and pest-control manager, was 42 when he developed a strange rash that lead to the diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in August 2014. For more on this story, click here.
